Last week Social Media Week sponsors ADLIB – a specialist recruitment company in technology, data, marketing and creative recruitment ran a sold out careers workshop for Social Media Week Bristol delegates.
The workshop was hosted at newly opened Access Creative College in central Bristol and covered some of the key trends impacting careers in social media.
The workshop was run by Rina Maniar, a senior recruiter at ADLIB who is working in the industry to recruit the next generation of digital experts across multiple industries.
“We are seeing a trend of greater employment opportunities for social media specialists, both in-house and agency side, rather than it being part of a broader digital marketing skill set. This has been driven by the continued flow of channels beyond Facebook and Twitter, including Snapchat, Instagram, Youtube and Pinterest.”
In the career workshop, Rina not only highlighted the key trends that will be impacting social media careers, but presented recent company research that highlighted what the social media market looks like today and the top 10 skills that professionals need to focus on to have a successful career.
The careers workshop also included personalised advice for delegates looking to improve their CVs, get experience, and find the right opportunities for career progression.
