Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and many of the most popular social media networks are now used widely by the 50+, even if they weren’t the younger, early adopters. But what about a social network designed specifically to appeal to silver surfers? With an ageing population and daily headlines about life expectancy sky-rocketing, the grey demographic is now attracting the attention of technology innovators & investors, keen to develop products and services for this market.
This invite only session will open with a case study of a new investor backed social network for older people called Remarkable Lives. Remarkable Lives is a care platform and reminiscence App designed to celebrate the life stories of older people and provide a secure platform for them to share these memories with the people who matter most.
The session will include contributions from the founders, investors and major care & older people charities who are supporting the development of Remarkable Lives. Including; Rob Fountain, CEO Age UK, Gloucestershire, Elia Takkos, Director, Home Instead and Sam Alford, award manager at the UnLtd Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs. Plus, exploring the success of care providers who are already using the social network to deliver person-centred care, improve client & carer relationships and satisfy their CQC requirements.
